About Jon
Jon D. Wagner was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, and studied film at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. He began directing and writing while in college, completing several shorts, including 2004’s Loving Sam, which won the “Best in Show” award at the 2004 BGSU Film and Media festival, and was an official selection at the 2005 Ohio Independent Film Festival.
Jon moved to Los Angeles in 2005, where he began working in production as a production assistant, then moved up to become a Production Manager and Producer, and began regularly producing and directing. He has written and directed numerous web series, commercials and industrials for a wide range of clients, and directed his first feature film The Anniversary at Shallow Creek in 2010.
The Anniversary: Shallow Creek was released in July of 2011 by Breaking Glass Pictures. He has directed several high profile viral web hits, including the spoof trailer for the classic NES video game “Paperboy” and a popular video lampooning the famous Christian Bale rant. Jon has several feature projects currently in development, including a film adaptation of the novel Castaways by the horror genre giant Brian Keene. He’s directed numerous web series, including Shoot to Kill and several episodes of the comedy series Everybody Loves Draven, both of which will be debuting soon.
